The Church School of the Meeting of Our Lord Parish will be at the heart of all children's activities. However, this will not be limited to classroom learning or Bible study; it will also encompass various activities that help shape us as active members of the Church, glorifying God and proclaiming His name to the world.

Following our successful meet-and-greet on the feast of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God, September 21, which was a wonderful opportunity for families to connect and learn more about our new initiative, we held our very first Church School class and folklore rehearsal at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio, generously offered by our beloved parishioners Irina and Strahinja Lackovic.

The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm as a wonderful group of children gathered to learn about their faith and culture. The first lesson focused on the importance of the Holy Cross, marking an essential moment in their spiritual education. Immediately after, the children took their first steps in traditional folklore dance and sang beautiful songs, immersing themselves in the richness of our Serbian heritage. It was heartwarming to witness the smiles on their faces as they learned together.

 

This new initiative not only aims to teach our children about Orthodoxy and our traditions but also to foster a strong sense of community. From now on, our Church School classes and folklore rehearsals will take place every Sunday, immediately following the Divine Liturgy. This extended time of fellowship will allow our children to grow in their faith, while also bonding with their peers in a joyful and supportive environment. It will also serve as a beautiful opportunity for parents and families to connect, creating a deeper sense of unity within our parish.

We are incredibly grateful to Irina and Strahinja Lackovic for their generous contribution to our community by providing a space that allows our children to learn, grow, and celebrate their faith and heritage. Their kindness is a reflection of the love and dedication that continues to strengthen our parish.

Seeing the excitement not only among the children but also their parents is a testament to the importance of nurturing both spiritual and cultural development in the next generation. The children especially enjoyed working with their young and enthusiastic instructor, Didi, whose energy and passion made the experience even more enjoyable for everyone involved. We look forward to many more Sundays filled with learning, laughter, and fellowship, as our community continues to flourish in faith and tradition.
