Celebrating St. King Stefan of Dečani and Welcoming Our Snowbirds

The Feast of St. King Stefan of Dečani on Sunday, November 24, was a joyous day for our parish, marking the slava celebration of the Simović family and the official welcome of our snowbirds — parishioners who spend the winter months in our community.

In true Serbian Orthodox tradition, the Circle of Serbian Sisters (KSS) prepared and served a delicious luncheon for all in attendance, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere where everyone enjoyed fellowship and shared in the blessings of the day.

Church School Activities

The church school children took part in an art class where they worked on crafts in preparation for the upcoming St. Sava program. The children's enthusiasm and creativity shone brightly as they made meaningful contributions to this cherished celebration of our Serbian heritage.

KSS Annual Assembly

Following the luncheon, the annual assembly of KSS Vavedenje took place. The sisters of our parish came together to reflect on their achievements over the past year and discuss plans for future activities and initiatives.

Fr. Vladislav presented a draft of the Kolo by-laws, which was warmly received and joyfully accepted by the sisterhood. The meeting also included discussions about the new KSS trusteeship. The desire to volunteer expressed by several sisters was met with unanimous approval.

Introducing the New KSS Trusteeship

We are pleased to announce the new trusteeship of KSS Vavedenje:

  • Biljana Caričić – President

  • Milica Jelić – First Vice President

  • Olivera Derevyanyy – Second Vice President

  • Kimberly Slepcevich – Treasurer

  • Gordana Tomašević – Financial Secretary

  • Cindy Golusin – Secretary

  • Stojanka Stella Stojanović and Marina Vasich – Sisters at Large

We pray for God’s abundant blessings on the newly elected sisters as they take on this important ministry in our church.

Gratitude to the Founding Trusteeship

We would also like to extend our deepest gratitude to the previous KSS trusteeship, led by Aleksandra Ugrica. This pioneering group will always hold a special place in the history of our parish as the first Kolo trusteeship of the Meeting of Our Lord Parish.

This memorable day beautifully blended faith, tradition, and community, reminding us of the vital role that the Circle of Serbian Sisters plays in the life of our church. May their efforts continue to inspire and strengthen our parish family!
