On Thursday, November 7, Orthodox clergy from the Naples area gathered at St. Paul Orthodox Christian Church in a meaningful show of unity, fellowship, and shared mission. This gathering brought together Fr. Paul Girgis of St. Paul Orthodox Christian Church, Fr. Hans Jacobse of St. Peter Orthodox Christian Church, Fr. Vladislav Golic of the Meeting of Our Lord Serbian Orthodox Church, Fr. Gabriel Alexe of St. Policarp Romanian Orthodox Church, and Fr. Gleb McFatter of St. Demetrius Orthodox Church. Unfortunately, Fr. Demetre Mott of St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church was unable to attend.
The clergy opened the meeting with prayer, affirming their commitment to serve the Orthodox faithful and reach out to others with the message of the Gospel. They shared updates on their parishes, discussed collaborative opportunities for ministry, and explored ways to better serve the Naples community. Plans for inter-parish events, such as combined vespers services, youth gatherings, Bible studies, and charitable initiatives, were warmly received, as each priest expressed eagerness to strengthen Orthodox Christian witness in the area.
This gathering highlighted the shared sense of mission and unity among Orthodox churches in Naples. Although each parish has its unique traditions, they are all bound by a common faith and dedication to Christ. The clergy left the meeting inspired, with hopes of making these gatherings a regular event to deepen Orthodox fellowship and renew their commitment to serving the community with love and unity in Christ.
